The above footage shares the reception interview during The Weekend in Solidarity With Dominica, which was a successful weekend lineup presented by Rebuild Dominica Inc in November 2015.

The guest of honor was Gordon Henderson, who is a Dominican-born and award-winning musician based in Paris (France). Henderson performs and is known worldwide as the Godfather of Cadense-Lypso music. Gordon Henderson arrived in Washington DC for the weekend series that included the Caribbean American Heritage Awards (CARAH). His arrival was sponsored by the Law Offices of Gabriel Christian and OmniSystems LLC.

The discussion was lead by Rebuild Dominica leaders and hosted by Dominica’s celebrity reporter and media personality, Tarnia Green. Gordon Henderson gave a splendid exposition of the history of Cadance-Lypso.

Also interviewed were key members and resource persons at Rebuild Dominica. These included Chairman Gabriel Christian, Caribbean Agricultural Network (CAN) Director, Errol Emmanuel, with Rebuild Dominica Logistics Director and CAN CEO Francis Richards. Also interviewed was Rebuild Dominica publicist, LaDàna Drigo, with her daughter, Ta’Tyani Young (a young Rebuild Dominica volunteer). Haitian artist, Jean Claude Vivens, and surveyor, Fitzroy Bertrand, were also featured. Other attendees included Rebuild Dominica members Timothy Dover, Sammy Garraway, Michael Davis, Anelia Bertrand and Whinny Lewis.

FoxNews: Carifesta Helps Rebuild Dominica

Fox News/Fox45 (Baltimore, MD) provided a live feature of the Rebuild Dominica, Inc. partnership with CARIFESTA to aid with collection of disaster relief items for The Commonwealth of Dominica.

Flooding brought on by Tropical Storm Erika on August 27th, 2015 has set Dominica’s development process back about 20 years; according to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.

Much help is needed as over 100 villagers are now homeless after the village of Petite Savanne was washed away.
