In the aftermath of the devastation wrought on Dominica by Tropical Storm Erika, the FairFax County School Age Child Care (SACC) Program under the commendable leadership of Mrs.Beverly Moore has donated a quantity of school supplies, toiletries and canned foods to Dominica through the management of the Rebuild Dominica Inc. organization based in Bowie, Maryland.
SACC provides fun, safe and educational care for children in kindergarten – sixth grade before school, after school and during school vacations in most Fairfax County elementary schools.
The management and members of Rebuild Dominica Inc. wish to thank the organizers and the many contributors to the SACC initiative for collecting and sorting the several items, packing and storing appropriately and delivering to the Rebuild Dominica pickup team on Wednesday October 21, 2015.
Special mention must be made of the significant contribution made by Caribbean Cargo DC for providing the means of pick up transportation and subsequent storage at their facility prior to shipment and distribution to Dominica at their earliest opportunity. It is anticipated that the items will be received and equitably distributed by the on-island Rebuild Dominica team.
