Film Producer Koby Maxwell Joins Rebuild Dominica

During the 2016 Planning Meeting on January 16th, Rebuild Dominica gained a new board member. Film producer, Koby Maxwell, who originates from Ghana, attended the meeting, which was hosted at the headquarters of Omni Systems in Arlington, Virginia.

Koby Maxwell comes on board as the nonprofit gears up for a partnership with a global event that will be announced this Spring. Mr. Maxwell will serve as the Director of Film Liaison for Rebuild Dominica. In this new role, the well-known film producer intends to introduce a new project that promotes AfroCarib relations while focusing on new ways to boost Dominica’s tourism industry.

Targeting the creation of a film industry in Dominica and the Diaspora, this project compliments Rebuild Dominica’s mission to provide creative and sustainable options for reconstruction in The Commonwealth of Dominica. With the popularity of Nollywood films on the island as well as the surrounding Caribbean isles, launching a film industry in Dominica would put focus on an untapped market.

More details will be announced during this summer. Resource persons interested in joining this project should register as a volunteer with Rebuild Dominica and provide details on their areas of expertise.
