Continuing our commitment to empowering our local farmers and enhancing food security across the island, this latest update focuses on training farmers, distributing tree crop plants, and promoting the Mafala breadfruit—a resilient and nutritious crop that holds great promise for our agricultural future.
In collaboration with our dedicated partner and advisor on agriculture, Augustus Adrienne Bannis, we have been actively training farmers in modern agricultural practices. This training is crucial in equipping them with the skills needed to cultivate and manage tree crops effectively. Alongside this, we have been distributing a variety of tree crop plants to farmers, ensuring they have access to high-quality, resilient crops that can withstand the challenges posed by climate change.

One of the highlights of our agricultural efforts is the Mafala breadfruit project. This initiative, executed in collaboration with Dr. Julius Garvey and supported by the Caribbean Agricultural Network, aims to spread the cultivation of Mafala breadfruit across Dominica. The Mafala breadfruit is not only a high-yielding and fast-growing variety but also a powerhouse of nutrition, making it an excellent choice for enhancing food security on the island.

Now, more than ever, is the time for partnership in agriculture. We invite our donors and potential sponsors to join us in this transformative journey. Your support is vital in helping us continue our work to strengthen the agricultural backbone of Dominica. Together, we can ensure that our farmers are resilient and our food security is robust.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Augustus Adrienne Bannis for his invaluable contributions and to Dr. Julius Garvey for his unwavering support. Their efforts, along with the collaboration of the Caribbean Agricultural Network, have been instrumental in the success of the Mafala breadfruit project.

Join us in making a lasting impact on Dominica’s agriculture. Together, we can build a resilient and food-secure future for our island!
