(Lanham, MD) A supporter and sponsor of Rebuild Dominica, Inc., Caribbean Cargo DC (CCDC) was the fitting host of a fundraiser on Saturday, September 19th 2015. The event was held at CCDC headquarters in the Washington, DC metro area.
This disaster relief drive was initiated by CCDC Marketing Representative, Barbara Eloi, and assisted by a team of community leaders. Prior to her tenure at CCDC, Eloi was a Customs Officer for the government of Dominica, where she worked on a specialized Customs Reform and Modernization project. Eloi is well-versed with facilitating public outreach efforts via trade shows and related seminars. She is a graduate of the University of the Virgin Islands and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Marketing.
During the event, over 10 large shipping barrels were filled with donated clothing, shoes, toys, school supplies, linen, and non-perishable food items. Volunteers sorted through generous items dropped off by supporters of the Dominica disaster relief effort. The event also raised funds through the sales from an on-site cookout and Rebuild Dominica branded t-shirts.
CCDC joins the ranks of sponsors that have gone above and beyond the call of duty for victims of Tropical Storm Erika. On behalf of citizens of Dominica, we extend a very special “Thank You” to CCDC and look forward to doing more good deeds!
