Fun Fact: “Uglies” is my favorite movie because it imagines a world where everyone undergoes an operation to become perfectly beautiful at the age of 16. The movie takes this fascinating concept and weaves a story that is both thrilling and thought-provoking. The best part is that the movie isn’t just about the allure of physical beauty but delves into themes of conformity, identity, and the definition of true freedom. I love how it challenges societal norms and makes you question the value we place on appearances. The characters are well-developed, the plot twists are gripping, and the dystopian world is vividly brought to life. It’s not just a film, but an exploration of deeper philosophical themes wrapped in an engaging and visually stunning package. That’s why “Uglies” stands out as my favorite movie—it’s a perfect blend of entertainment and introspection.
“My hobbies include drawing and dancing. I find joy in expressing myself creatively through both art and movement. Drawing allows me to translate my imagination onto paper, while dancing lets me connect with rhythm and music in a deeper, personal way.
I have a talent for singing. It’s something I’ve been passionate about for a long time, and I enjoy using my voice to express emotions and connect with others through music. I also have a passion for running long distances in track and field. I carefully planned and prepared for my trip to The Piney Woods School to ensure everything went smoothly. I started by researching the school’s history and culture to better understand its significance. Then, I packed accordingly, making sure to include comfortable clothing, necessary supplies, and any materials relevant to my stay. Additionally, I made a detailed itinerary, ensuring I had all my travel arrangements and accommodations sorted out. Finally, I mentally prepared myself by setting goals for what I wanted to learn and experience during my time there.

I had to face the difficult challenge of leaving my friend behind because I was in a hurry. It wasn’t an easy decision, but time constraints forced me to prioritize the immediate situation. It was a tough moment, filled with mixed emotions, but sometimes circumstances demand quick and decisive actions. I was initially upset about leaving my friend behind, but when my parents called and reassured me that he was doing fine, it brought me a lot of relief. Knowing that he was safe and well helped me overcome the guilt and stress of the situation. I was able to focus on the positive outcome and learn from the experience to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
My desire to experience different things in life inspired me to apply for the scholarship with Rebuild Dominica Inc. and The Piney Woods School. The opportunity aligns perfectly with my goal of furthering my education while embracing new experiences. I’m excited about the chance to immerse myself in a diverse learning environment, explore new perspectives, and contribute to meaningful causes.
